No, I’m not giving away my agent! Ali Herring is definitely a keeper. But she’s going to give some lucky person a query or first chapter critique (winner’s choice). There are three ways to get in on this, and each way earns you an extra chance at winning.
1) follow me on Twitter @SJ_Mondragon
2) subscribe to my website at sharonjmondragon.com
3) leave a comment on my serialized story, I’LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS. I post new installments every Wednesday on my blog. Please note: You must include your Twitter user name in the comment in order to receive an entry!
The contest winner will be announced October 8 on Twitter:@HerringAli and @SJ_Mondragon.
Best of luck to all!
Hi Sherry,
I started a comment, but left my computer and somehow it disappeared, so, if you find another message that is redundant, I am not having a senior moment (even though my birthday was yesterday).
First, I want to thank you for the excellent input you gave me at Write On meeting. I know how critical it is for an author to have a compelling first page. My first book, only got the attention of an agent after i rewrote the first couple of pages approximately 33 times. I am in the waiting game for him to get back to me. He is pitching the manuscript to three publishers.
More importantly, I wanted to compliment your website. It is user friendly and interesting. I am just beginning to struggle with a website (I am social media challenged). If you find the time I would appreciate a visit from you and later maybe you could give me some pointers in that realm.
Your prayer shawl project captured my attention because I instantly thought of my daughter, Jennifer. She lives in WI with her husband and three children. Last fall she was diagnosed with a rare type of sarcoma cancer. So rare, that they have only about twenty documented cases in the U.S still living. The prognosis is not too promising. There is a 52% survival rate. I went to be with the family while she had surgery and the surgeon thought they removed all the tumor located on her ribs. Spring came and a Pet scan showed clear. We thought she was out of the woods.
Unfortunately, a week ago, another scan, showed a spread to her sternum. She will have another surgery and biopsy to determine the nature and extent of this new growth. The good thing is the entire family are Believers and although they have their down times, their faith remains strong. This was way I thought a prayer shaw would have the appropriate meaning and comfort. Because, words fail a concerned father.
I will be reading your work on the blog site. Thanks again for your kind correction on my writing.
Under His Wings,
Brent
